Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
A retirement savings account registered with the Government of Canada that allows you to defer or reduce income taxes payable.
Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA)
A flexible savings account registered with the Government of Canada that allows you to earn tax-free investment income. Canadians aged 18 and older can save up to $6,000 each year in a TFSA.
Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
This is a special savings plan that relies on contributions from you, the Federal Government, and the Canada Education Savings Grant. It allows you to grow your savings, tax-free, until a child is ready for post-secondary education.
Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
A retirement fund registered with the Government of Canada that provides income during your retirement. Funds are transferred into a RRIF from an RRSP, RPP or from another RRIF.
Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)
A savings plan registered with the Government of Canada intended to help parents and others save for the long term financial security of a person who is eligible for the disability tax credit.
